EU Supports 73Health’s Vision for Smarter Remote Health
With the support of EU funding, we and our global partners are developing a groundbreaking solution that brings stool and urine analysis into remote appointments.
What if early signs of illness could be spotted from a simple bathroom visit? Without you needing to step into a clinic.
We built the technology that lets doctors truly examine patients remotely and now, we’re taking our innovation to the next level. With the support from the EU’s I3-INSHAPE program, we and our global partners are developing a groundbreaking solution that brings stool and urine analysis into remote appointments. And with it, a whole new layer of insight into human health.

Turning a toilet into a diagnostic tool
We’re proud to be part of an international consortium funded by the European Union’s I3-INSHAPE program. Our shared mission is to combine our remote diagnostic technology with rich wellness data in an entirely new way.
By integrating an analyzer into a toilet seat, the technology can remotely examine stool samples as a part of a doctor’s health examination. This opens a new window into human health as gut analytics reveal how well nutrients are absorbed, indicates balance in diet and hydration, and detects potential disruptions in the gut microbiota, stress, or early inflammation.
When we connect this data with real-time clinical insights from eEVA, a doctor can gain a full, clear picture of the patient’s health, where no visit in the office is needed.
–We’re combining stool analysis with remote health examinations. This integrated solution moves digital healthcare forward significantly. We are heading toward a future where diagnoses, monitoring, and treatment effectiveness rely on precise, multi-source intelligence, says 73Health’s CEO Kimmo Nikkanen.

Real-time gut data for real preventive care
Gut health is fundamental to overall well-being as gut health is increasingly linked to chronic conditions such as IBS, IBD, and metabolic disorders. By integrating stool analytics into remote diagnostics, we give doctors a powerful tool to spot early signs of trouble. Nutritional imbalances, inflammation, microbiome changes often develop before symptoms even appear.
– Stool doesn’t lie, Kimmo reminds us.
73Health’s stool analysis reveals gut balance, digestion issues, hidden inflammation, infections, even cancer risks. We want to give people with chronic gut conditions and those in at-risk a faster connection to their doctor. And the power to understand what’s happening inside their body.
Thanks to the I3-INSHAPE program and its partners, we’re also extending our diagnostic selection to include physical activity tracking. This further expands the remote appointment experience.
